Alexandra Colby is an Associate Attorney at Hankin Sandman Palladino Weintrob & Bell, where she focuses on construction, public contract, and commercial litigation. Alexandra attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD on a merit scholarship. There, she was a member of six honor societies and held two Presidential positions. Alexandra served as President of the College’s Model Diplomacy group, which gained two international championship titles in Rome and Montreal. While an undergraduate, Alexandra lived and studied in both Argentina and the Philippines for an extended time. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in International Studies and Hispanic Studies, with a minor in Economics and a Latin American concentration.
Alexandra went on to earn a J.D./LL.M. in International, Comparative, and European Union Law. While in law school, Alexandra was an Editor for the Sustainable Development Law & Policy Publication. She was also a member of, and Finance Director for, the Moot Court Honor Society. As a Moot Court member, Alexandra was a Semi-Finalist in the Alvina Reckman-Meyers competition and competed internationally in the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Competition in Vienna, Austria. Alexandra holds a special certification in International Commercial Arbitration.
Before joining Hankin Sandman Palladino Weintrob & Bell, Alexandra interned with the Office of General Counsel at USAID in their Acquisition and Assistance group where she worked on federal contracts and grants with international parties. She then served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge Mary C. Jacobson, A.J.S.C. in Mercer County. When Judge Jacobson retired in the Summer of 2021, Alexandra served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the acting Assignment Judge in Mercer County, the Honorable Judge Robert T. Lougy. During her clerkship, Alexandra worked on cases involving the Open Public Records Act, land use disputes, challenges to municipal action, and public contract disputes.
Alexandra is a member of the Mercer County Bar Association, Ocean County Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, and the National Italian American Bar Association.
